Highlights of the 2022/2023 ATAFOM University Open Day Event

The 2022/2023 academic year at ATAFOM University International has officially commenced with the orientation and open day event for registered and prospective students including parents.

This grand occasion which held physically and online on Thursday October 6, had in attendance, the management of the university led by Rector, Prof. Dr. Michael Bauer and a good number of ATAFOM staff and students from across the 15 countries where the university has its personnel and presence – these countries include Germany, India, Turkiye, Nigeria, Zambia, Benin Republic and Saudi Arabia.

It was an opportunity for management to provide vital information and restate the goals and philosophy of the university to students and parents who honoured the invitation especially from Zambia and Nigeria where the event held physically.

Mr. Jawed, the Head of IT, took time to explain the ATAFOM dream and the university’s desire to provide education for integration (by explaining the idiosyncrasy of the founder, Dr. Sakir Yavuz, the admission process, the IT landscape, courses available and future plans).

The Heads of Info Office in Nigeria and Zambia, Mrs. Jamila Abubakar and Mr. Shumo El Mumba also described the opportunity as a one in a million. For Mrs. Abubakar, it is an alternative education platform for Nigerians considering the incessant industrial actions that have characterised university education in the country. On the other hand, Mr. Mumba views it as another platform for his fellow Zambians to receive world class education.

There was also a moment for questions and the management through Mr. Jawed responded accordingly. Most questions bothered on the admission process and tuition fee. Mr. Jawed was happy to announce to the students and parents that ATAFOM University International offers a tuition-free programme because there are sponsor organisations who are partnering with the university to cover this aspect.

The following are excerpts from a short interview with a community leader and two students from Nigeria:

“We will like ATAFOM University to have more of these kinds of meeting to enable our people know more about the institution”, says Alhaji Musa Yau. He also hopes to enrol his wards in the coming sessions and inform friends about the university as well.

For Miss Fatima Abdullahi, the Open Day event surpassed her expectation: “I feel very happy and everything told to us here makes me excited. All my concerns were duly addressed and I can’t wait anymore to commence my programme in Medicine.”
“On a sale of 1-10, I will rate this opportunity 9 because the personnel I see mean I am looking forward to a very great experience” – Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim Kabir (Student of International Business Development)
Guests were treated to sumptuous lunch where there was opportunity to interact further and make acquaintances.
Congratulations to ATAFOM University International for a successful launching of the second academic year. See you in the next Open Day occasion.
