Once upon a time a father formerly shared a home with his three boys. Although they put in a lot of effort, his sons were continuously at odds with one another. The father attempted to assist his sons by reconciling them all the time, but he was never able to make it work. They fought so frequently that their neighbours began to make fun of them. The father eventually developed a rare terminal disease. Because of his imminent death, he asked his boys to learn how to cooperate, but they didn’t listen. The father then decided to impart a useful lesson to his boys to encourage them to set aside their differences and work as a cohesive unit. “I’ll give you each an equal assortment of sticks to split in half,” the father told his boys. “The person who breaks the sticks the quickest will win.” The father gave each of his sons, ten sticks after they agreed to the challenge and told them to cut each stick in half. The sons performed this chore in a matter of minutes, but as soon as they did, they got into a quarrel over who had finished first. “Dear sons, the mission isn’t over,” the father stated. “I’ll now give each of you ten additional sticks, but this time you must break them in half as a bundle rather than individually.”
His boys complied and made an effort to carry out his instructions. Despite their greatest efforts, none of them was able to split the bundle in half. They admitted their failure to their father. Their father responded, “See, it was simple to split the sticks in half individually, but you couldn’t split all ten at once. Similar to that, if the three of you remain a cohesive unit, no one will be able to hurt you. However, if you engage in constant combat, anyone may outwit you. Please unite as one cohesive team.” The man’s sons learned the value of working together as a team via this experience and pledged to their father that moving ahead, they would do the same, regardless of the circumstance.
The lesson worthy of note here is that a team’s general morale and motivation are influenced by each member’s effectiveness. At ATAFOM University International, we work and learn as a unit though encapsulated in different programs. Strong teams tend to push themselves further, encourage one another, and cooperate when pursuing a common objective. Our classes are of a decent size so that each student not only gets heard but can integrate freely as they glean from each other’s wealth of knowledge. You can attain your intended results by being focused on the task at hand rather than letting personal conflicts get in the way. Each person has different talents, strengths, and limitations to contribute to teamwork. ATAFOM University’s vision is integrity, service, excellence and teamwork represented by our theme “Education for Integration”. We offer an education that imparts knowledge according to international standards with the commitment to humanitarian, social values and real, lived integration with a high level of mutual respect. We are a team inviting you for a rare, unique, world-class opportunity at ATAFOM UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL!!!
